Born in Barcelona but brought up in Galicia, he moves back to Barcelona in 2002, where he studies Fashion Design at the School of Fashion Design Felicidad Duce. After a brief working period as part of Mango’s design team, Manuel Bolaño decides to start working on his own collection.
In 2007 he is awarded with the Barcelona Bread & Butter prize for the best collection of his own graduation class; he takes part in Murcia’s Open Catwalk and is again awarded with several prizes at Madrid’s Young Creators Contest; at the Festival Noovo of Santiago de Compostela and is singled out to take part in the Projecte Bressol, a fashion project launched by the Generalitat de Catalunya (Autonomous Government of Catalonia).
